Cornelius (Con) O’Donovan took part in the 1916 Rising and was stationed at the Four Courts in Dublin. After the Rising he was sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted, and subsequent nationalist activity meant that he was in and out of prison in England, Wales and Ireland until the end of 1921.
